Maricas will surely be this season's Cinderella team as it defies the odds and clinches its 5th win over Red Bulls. In the past 3 seasons, the core of the Maricas team, under the name KOP/Pinoy used to hug the cellar and has never seen a the light to the playoffs. This year, after a complete make-over and a new team sponsor, Maricas remains unbeatable in the regular games, tied only to the mighty GK Warriors.
At gametime, Maricas showed poise in beating Red Bulls 53-39. The team's balanced scoring, combined with their fluid offense and superb defense carried the day for Maricas. BJ Advento who had only 2 points in the first half caught fire in the second half with 12 points, for a game high 14 points. The win puts Maricas in second place in the over-all rankings and top spot in the Pilipino division. Red Bulls, on the other hand, slides to 7th over-all.

I'm a fan of everyone at PAAD. But I do have to admit that I feel like team Red Bulls is taking all the credit for the championship win in '07. Sorry guys but if the NOW TFC players weren't in your team, you guys would have never been the champs. "Red Bulls" was just the team name that won (Sorry to say). TFC is the true champs. And no i'm not any part hating. I'm just stating an opinion. It really sucks that the schedule changed. Would've been a great game to watch. Good luck to all the teams. Yes, including red bulls. :]
Why are you so concerned about the Redbulls? Do you play for TFC? Some people need to get a life. I know a lot of the Redbulls personally and they are nowhere near cocky. If this is a big concern to you, just say it to them on saturday.

TFC in your dreams. We have more respect for team redbull. TFC was never a PAAD champion. Probably in the future if GKW and Dragons will not on the scene. You know what.... EXCEL won't let it happen. TFC very cocky. Last year ... one of your player said that he wants to play with GKW and will show them that TFC is the best.... but what happened?

I believe the core team itself had changed for the better. They've decided to take a new approach and it worked for them so far. Once, I think I overheard one of them say "One game at time...just do our best." and that made me smile :-), made me glad their something is still keeping them grounded. So whether or not they become Overall Champs, the fact that they've made it this far made us, fans of Maricas feel like a winner already. I'm really proud of them. Go Maricas! Kudos to PAAD and Kudos to all the teams. To me, they are all very good players!

2007 was a great season for both teams and both teams contributed to the Championship. We were able to play like a team from the start and become friends in the process.
Tom recruited us to the team and Redbulls welcomed us with open arms. Coach Karl had a great game plan every week and we played great ball together. Most of all we accomplished our goal.
So stop shiet talking and just play/watch the game. Good luck teams

Twisted, Blind and naive? When TFC agreed to play for RedBull then they are REDBULL not TFC but REDBULL. Example: Excel/PHI we can consider that both Excel and PHI won the FACAA 2009 because it is what it is. For GKW.... did you hear anything about the TLC or SoulStar that they are the true champions of PAAD2008 league? No (not yet hehehhe). GKW players are gentleman enough not to downgrade their teammates.
This is what I think why TFC cannot accept what is happening right now.... When they agreed to play with RedBULL 2007 and won the championship.... we (the fans) gave credit to RedBULL (as a whole team) and all the praises. TFC went back 2008 knowing that they can show us (the fans) that they are the true champions not Redbull unfortunately the GKW added new talented and young players (here comes TLC and SoulStar) and GKW won the 2008 PAAD championship. NOW, TFC are claiming that they are the REDBULL that’s why we should be consider them as the 2007 champion.
To TFC, we are now in 2009 there are a lot of changes since 2007. There are GKW, EXCEL/PHI, Dragons and the LANCIONI’S BLAZERS (hehehehe). Probably next year… there is an opening for youth basketball (joke).
hey guys it's already 2009. wake up! in a basketball league, it's about playing and challenging what's in the present and in the future. that's how you make history. do you think being the champion or not last 2007 will help RedBulls or TFC win their next respective games? i don't think so.. just excuse those people who doesn't know basketball as a whole. they thought basketball is only for the champion team, they thought basketball is just for who's winning. i think, we have to start learning more the depth of playing basketball.. i know that only TRUE basketball players know and understand what i'm trying to say.
it's playoff time!!! let's enjoy the game. let's not take it personally. we know what everybody is capable of. so, let's just have fun..
just like my boy alex said, we were able to build chemistry from the start and it was team work through that whole 2007 season. alex, rudy, jay, butch, and paul were GREAT teammates and will always remain our close friends. i enjoyed having them on our squad and wish them the best the rest of the season. yo let's just drop this topic and look forward to great playoff games on saturday. good luck to TFC and the rest of the teams playing.
